Mission Statement
Our mission is to prevent neglect, suffering, abuse, and cruelty to animals; to provide information and raise public awareness of animal issues; to promote responsible pet ownership including education for the need to spay and neuter; and to strive for humane care, treatment and well being of animals through kindness, education, information and action.
Purpose
- Protect and promote the humane treatment of animals.
- Through the Volunteer Services Committee, assist with rescue, fostering and adoption of pets.
- Implement educational programs promoting spay/neutering, licensing and adoption.
- Build and establish an animal shelter which provides the community and County with an alternative.
- Facilitate a Veterinarian Advisory Board which will participate in spay/neuter and vaccination clinics, wellness and other educational programs in addition to establishing policy and procedures for the operation, management and veterinarian care of animals to be housed at the new facility.
Pet Care and Education Facility
PAWS of Carteret has started planning for a new, state of the art, facility. When completed, the facility will have dedicated runs, kennels, play rooms, and sick rooms in addition to a conference/education room, OR, laundries, food preparation and other standard areas.
