PAWS Gets Hot

During summer how often have you been walking through a store parking lot, heard a barking dog in a car and felt like you needed to do something? Perhaps the owner has only intended to go in for a few minutes, but what if they forget or it takes longer? What should you do and how far should you go?

PAWS has created "tickets" called "Your Dog May Be Dying". You may pick up some of these tickets at the PAWS Thrift Store free of charge (donations are accepted) and are encouraged to keep them in your car this summer. If you encounter a situation as described write the car description. tag number, and time on a ticket. Take the ticket into the store and calmly ask the manager on duty to please make an announcement. All of this can be done anonymously.

Local grocery and retail stores such as Wal-Mart are participating with the general public in an effort to keep pets home while their customers shop. PAWS is providing PSA's for stores to remind their customers "Although we appreciate your business Your Dog/Pet May Be Dying. Please leave Fido and Fluffy at home, not in your vehicle while shopping with us this summer."
