PAWS offers a small adoption program until such time we can offer a facility. The program is very basic but requires a commitment of about three hours per week on the same day each week, sometimes less or more. We monitor a "voice-mail box" and respond to our callers.

Criteria:

• Volunteer chooses one day per week to retrieve and return PAWS-Link adoption line phone calls (same day every week)
• Documents calls, responses, and outcome
• Must be able to discuss many aspects of adoption & surrender, and be aware of available resources in Carteret County
• Computer availability & skills

The PAWS-Link line averages about ten calls per day, sometimes none at all, sometimes more than ten. Most folks want information and just need to be directed to the correct resource. This can be very rewarding, as you'll be helping people adopt and also find homes for animals.
